From October 17th to November 2nd, 2022 the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art's (ICAA) Rocky Mountain Chapter was pleased to participate in an exhibition of work that was generated by the students and staff involved with the Classical Studies program hosted at the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning. The exhibit featured a wide variety of projects from participants in the program including: ink wash renderings, scaled models, photography, free hand sketches and measured drawings. The student work was curated from CU Denver classes such as: Sketching as Seeing, Elements of Classical Architecture, The Art of Traditional Design, Classical Studio and from ICAA Programming such as: A Workshop in Classical Architecture, Regional & Winter Intensives, and Summer Studios. It also showcased current classical professional practice work of past CU Denver students. The exhibition was attended by members of the ICAA Rocky Mountain community, students, faculty members and visiting professionals.
The Classical Studies Program provides students with the intellectual and practical skills necessary to position themselves as discerning practitioners and critical thinkers in a particular sector of architectural practice, as well as within allied fields such as traditional urban design, historic preservation, the building arts, interior design, and landscape architecture. The course content merges theoretical inquiry with skill-based learning to provide a solid foundation for a successful professional career.
