Hosted by the Southeast Chapter | 4 AIA LU
The course will provide instruction and demonstration of in situ architectural sketching in graphite and ink, and for the expressive use of watercolor to augment the hand sketch. Emphasis will be given to a loose, gestural style of both sketching and painting rather than strict measured drawings. Following the instructor’s demonstration, each participant will select a vignette to do timed pencil/ink sketches of a given subject, and then add watercolor washes to the sketch(es). The approach is meant to encourage intuitive and loose hand drawing for an architect’s everyday recording of significant built work.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website, or contact the Chapter directly, for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
