For over 40 years, Lison de Caunes has been mastering the art of straw marquetry, revealing the true nobility of a humble and natural material: rye straw. Under her expert hands, this organic element is transformed into a precious material, offering a luminous aesthetic with its shimmering reflections.
Heir to the know-how of her grandfather André Groult, Art Deco decorator and designer, Lison de Caunes has continuously innovated and nurtured this technique by combining straw marquetry with exceptional materials. Today, Ateliers Lison de Caunes collaborates with renowned decorators and designers such as Peter Marino, Jacques Grange, Pierre Yovanovitch, Charles Zana or Jean-Louis Deniot, perpetuating a tradition of artisanal excellence. Many luxury brands’ stores such as Guerlain, Louis Vuitton, and Cartier showcase designs created by Lison De Caunes’ workshops.
Launched in September 2023, La paille en héritage is a beautifully illustrated 200-page book tracing Lison de Caunes’ family legacy and remarkable career. From her bold beginnings to international acclaim, the book immerses readers in her creative world, highlighting iconic projects that shaped her workshops and sharing captivating family anecdotes. La paille en héritage is available to purchase online and published exclusively in French.
