Hosted by the Southern California Chapter | 4 AIA CES Learning Units|Elective and 4 credits towards the Certificate in Classical Architecture (Tuscan Order)
Pre-requisite: Introduction to Classical Moldings
Limited capacity.
This fast-paced class provides an introduction to understanding and laying out classical architecture through a study of the Tuscan Order. Students of all abilities will learn the proportions, details and essential parts of classical architecture by laying out a column, entablature, and pediment. The class will end with a sketch problem combining these elements to create a classical door aedicula and a typical façade. Most importantly, you will learn why the study of the classical orders is an essential foundation in study and practice of architecture whether traditional or contemporary.
To ensure the safety of our community, all participants will be required to show proof of Covid vaccination. In addition, all participants will be required to wear a mask, and social distance precautions will be observed.
