Hosted by the Washington Mid-Atlantic Chapter
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, we have not been able to sketch together as a group for many months. However, the L’Enfants would still like to encourage as many architects and designers to continue sketching. Therefore, we will be trying an online version of Columns & Coffee this July.
We invite anyone who is interested to join us in sketching our first topic: the works of John Russell Pope. Participants should sketch their favorite Pope building based on reference images or, if they are comfortable with it, by visiting the building in person. Participants may work in any medium and may create any type of drawing: perspective, rendered elevation, analytique, etc.
To encourage everyone during this re-launch effort, we will be giving away a $25 gift card to Blick Art Materials to the best sketch (as judged by the committee members and based on overall style and technique). Only the first 15 people to register will be considered for the award, and should be prepared to speak for about 3-5 minutes on their work. Other registrants are welcome to join the call to see what their colleagues produced.
Please send a digital version (JPG or PDF) to [email protected] before the close of business on Tuesday, July 14th.
A Zoom link will be distributed upon registration.
