Hosted by the Washington Mid-Atlantic Chapter
Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion led by the L'Enfants, the emerging architects branch of the ICAA-WMA. For our first C&C of the new decade, we will be sketching at the St. Regis Hotel. This Beaux-Arts hotel was opened in 1926 as the Carlton Hotel by the prominent local developer Harry Wardman. Designed by Mihran Mesrobian, architect of the Hay-Adams and Wardman Tower hotels, the St. Regis pairs a subtly quirky exterior with a luxurious-yet-inviting interior. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
We will meet at the Starbucks at the corner of 16th & K Streets (across from the hotel) at 10:00am. We will be sketching for about 2.5-3 hours, but people are welcome to come and go as they please.
