Hosted by the Ohio and Erie Chapter
Charles Phillips of Beautiful Flowers in Cleveland will present fundamentals of flower arranging in this exceptional presentation. Mr. Phillips will discuss floral design from the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman arrangements to the Dutch Baroque botanical paintings and into the high-style elegance of table-top vases for today’s festivities. We’ll learn about color composition, balance, emphasis, and flower selections in the assembly of corsages, boutonnieres, wreaths, bouquets, as well as floating and vase arrangements. We’ll learn the elements and principals of floral design, the latest techniques for the care and handling of flowers, and how to select flower varieties. Mr. Phillips will also provide advice on the proper etiquette of color selections and symbolic significance when sending floral tributes on special occasions, including funerals, memorials, births, weddings and proms.
