Please join us Saturday, August 10th, for a guided tour of the Heritage Square Museum. Heritage Square is a collection of eight Victorian-era structures set amongst historically accurate landscaped grounds alongside the Arroyo Seco in Lincoln Heights. The museum’s mission is “to preserve, collect, and interpret the architecture, physical environment, and culture of Southern California during the first 100 years of statehood, (1850 to 1950).”
We will then take a short drive to El Alisal, the home of journalist, conservationist, and historian Charles Lummis. El Alisal, built by hand with stones from the adjacent Arroyo Seco by Lummis over a period of thirteen years, is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Landmark and a significant example of the Arts and Crafts movement that flourished around the Arroyo Seco at the turn of the twentieth century.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website or contact the Chapter directly for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
