Hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter
Join us for a festive holiday walking tour of historic Haddonfield, NJ. Led by resident and ICAA Philadelphia Chapter Board member Josh Eckert, AIA, this two-hour walking tour will feature architectural treats and town planning tricks in the town synonymous with the Halloween movie franchise.
The tour will begin by traversing Kings Highway, Haddonfield’s historic main street listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which features a diverse range of architectural styles spanning the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The tour will then explore adjacent residential neighborhoods before concluding with a walk along Washington Avenue, a beautiful Victorian-era residential street listed by the Philadelphia Inquirer as one of the best places for Trick-or-Treating in the Philadelphia area.
Highlights of the tour will include 18th century buildings such as the Indian King Tavern and Gibbs Tavern, English Gothic Revival churches by Isaac Pursell, Borough Hall by Walter William Sharpley, and outstanding examples of Federal, Italianate, Stick and Queen Anne residential styles.
The tour will begin and end at the Hadrosaurus Foulki dinosaur statue located 37 Kings Highway East.
