Please join the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) at 6pm EST on November 10th for a panel discussion on how the integration of technology in architecture, design and construction is changing traditional workflow. This panel features Reis Contracting’s Chief Technology Officer Shaun Frazier, Colin Slaten of Peter Pennoyer Architects, Adam Lowenthal of Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Lindsey DuBosar of Hart Howerton.
Terms such as Building Information Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery have been around for years. Despite their advantages, we often find ourselves working in isolation with linear workflows in communication throughout design and construction. This is in part due to legacy workflows, contractual liabilities, intellectual property practices, awareness of the alternatives, or simply the challenge of technological implementation.
Whether using CAD, ArchiCAD or Revit, the opportunity is ever more present to take full advantage of the “I” in Building Information Modeling and foster a more integrated and efficient partnership between architects, consultants and builders. Cloud based modeling software with point cloud technology, virtual coordination review and clash resolution are especially useful as COVID mandates continue for remote working and onsite distancing.
This panel of technologists, based in classical architecture and construction for high-end residential design, will gather to discuss design coordination and collaboration tools that can be utilized to better leverage a more efficient communication workflow and collaboration.
Shaun Frazier | Chief Technology Officer, Reis Contracting

Her multi-disciplinary experience as Director of BIM Operations, BIM Coordinator, Lighting Designer & BIM Manager at STV, BuroHappold Engineering & Robert A.M. Stern Architects has allowed her to gain a broad perspective on the construction industry. Lindsey has delivered several presentations at AU, chaired the 2015 BIM Integration Congress & is a visiting lecturer for both NYU & The Pratt Institute’s Construction Management Programs.
Adam Lowenthal | Director of Design Technology and Information Management, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, LLP

Stern Architects and is responsible for IT infrastructure, BIM and knowledge management, digital archives, design applications, research and development of emerging technologies and customer support. Adam has several years of design and BIM coordination experience on master-planning, multi-family residential and institutional projects. He has developed strategies and workflows to suit the specific needs of RAMSA’s eclectic classical designs. Adam’s design technology interests include the management and creation of customized content, graphic standards, project management, training, staffing and recruitment and AR/VR implementation.
Colin Slaten | BIM Director and a Senior Associate, Peter Pennoyer Architects
Colin Slaten serves as the BIM Director and a Senior Associate at Peter Pennoyer Architects, where he leads the firm-wide effort to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM) and utilize all of its benefits. Previous to Peter Pennoyer Architects, Colin was an Associate at Robert AM Stern Architects where he worked on a variety of higher education projects including managing the restoration of the iconic Hartford Times Building that returned the facade to its former glory while adding a 140,000-square-foot addition that complemented the neoclassical design and provided modern amenities needed by a world-class research university. Colin was also one of the founding members of the Integrated Design Studio at RAMSA. Colin received his Master of Architecture from The University of Tennessee and currently also serves on a Design Technology panel for Auburn University’s 4th year students.
