Hosted by the Texas Chapter
Matthew Henson, a master craftsman of decorative plaster exercising his craft over a long career of nationwide historic renovation projects, will demonstrate the art.
The event will be twofold. The first portion will be a viewing of a segment of the documentary film Palace of Justice, showing the renovation of the Harris County Courthouse. The segment will highlight Mr. Henson’s decorative plaster work for the renovation for approximately 15 minutes. A brief period of questions and answers will follow.
During the second half of the event, Mr. Henson will demonstrate the craft through the pouring of molds taken from one of his current projects. He will explain the process as well as good practices during the demonstration. This will be more informal, so questions may be asked during or after.
