Jonathan Knight may be best known as a member of the Grammy®-nominated band New Kids on the Block, but in the new HGTV series Farmhouse Fixer, he’ll share his renovation know-how by meticulously restoring centuries-old New England farmhouses that deserve a second chance. “I love a good old farmhouse,” says Jonathan. “To me, being on a farm is a way of life. Old farmhouses are disappearing off the landscape, but these are American treasures that should be saved.”
John Tittmann attended Yale College and the Yale School of Architecture. Deeply interested in the possibilities of the classical tradition, John took extensive sketching trips to Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Spain to see classical and Mediterranean sites firsthand. On one trip, in 1987, he traveled with Thomas Gordon Smith to ancient Ionia to assist Smith’s research for a new translation of Vitruvius. By 1991, John had moved to Boston, where he hung out his own shingle as Tittmann Associates. Jim, Jacob, and John, now in the same city, began sharing resources and in 1996 decided to work together at ART.
Dan K. Gordon is the founder and principal of Dan Gordon Landscape Architects (DGLA). Dan and his colleagues have created a body of work that has achieved sustained recognition, including numerous awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art. In 2017, Dan Gordon was inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame for the recognition of an outstanding body of work spanning more than two decades. Dan’s landscapes have been widely published in Design New England, New England Home Magazine, Period Homes and Wellesley Weston Magazine. Dan currently serves on the board of the New England Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
Kristina Crestin brings a contagious, upbeat energy to all of her relationships, and lives and breath’s all things design from unique materials, finishes, and colors to those hard-to-find “curated” interior design elements. She splits her time between her business Kristina Crestin Design and designing and filming HGTV’s Farmhouse Fixer.
J.B. Clancy studied architectural history at Brown University under Dietrich Neumann, writing his honors thesis on Léon Krier’s then unbuilt Poundbury project. J.B. went on to study architecture at the Yale School of Architecture and was a TA for Alex Garvin’s popular Study of the City course. J.B. joined Alex in New York City in 1996 to help develop a master plan for the city’s Olympic bid. J.B. then moved to Boston and worked for Arrow Street for several years before joining ART in 2002. His interests include sustainable design, and he is a Certified Passive House Consultant. J.B. also enjoys drawing and sketching and helps organize ART’s annual drawing class. He became a partner in the firm in 2008.
