Hosted by the Texas Chapter
Join us for a private tour of the groundbreaking exhibition "Roman Landscapes: Visions of Nature and Myth from Rome and Pompeii" at the San Antonio Museum of Art, led by Jessica Powers, PhD, Interim Chief Curator, Curator of Art of the Ancient Mediterranean.
This first-of-its-kind exhibition in the United States features sixty-five wall paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and more, created in Roman Italy between 100 BC and AD 250. Explore the imaginary aspects of Roman images of the natural world, including coastal villas, rustic shrines, and mythological scenes, and discover the artistic conventions that distinguish Roman landscape scenes. The private tour will be followed by a reception, providing an opportunity to engage with the artworks and mingle with fellow art enthusiasts.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website or contact the Chapter directly for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
