Hosted by the Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter
Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion led by the L'Enfants, the emerging architects branch of the ICAA-WMA. Anyone with an interest in sketching and/or connecting with other artists and architects are encouraged to attend. This month, we will be sketching at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The largest Catholic Church in North America, this basilica is an eclectic mix of Neo-Byzantine and Neo-Romanesque architecture, with 70 chapels reflecting different cultures and aesthetics. Construction began in 1920 and only officially finished in late 2017 with the completion of the Trinity Dome mosaic.
Participants should be prepared to bring their own materials. We will meet at Fox Loves Taco at 716 Monroe St NE at 10:00am. We will be sketching for about 2.5-3 hours, but people are welcome to come and go as they please.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website, or contact the Chapter directly, for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
