The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) is pleased to present the Premiere of the ICAA Documentary Film “Robert A.M. Stern: Always a Student.” The first installment of Design in Mind, a series of original, mini-documentary films produced by the ICAA, the film provides a behind-the-scenes view into the work of esteemed architect Robert A.M. Stern and showcases his expertise surrounding the topics of classicism and education. Throughout the duration of the film, Mr. Stern discusses how architectural education informs practice, and vice versa, referencing his own career and approach. He explains the importance of classicism in an architect’s training, and reflects on the role of classical architecture in contemporary institutional projects. He is joined in the film by Gary Brewer and Melissa DelVecchio, two of the sixteen Partners at Robert A.M. Stern Architects.
A special panel discussion will follow the premiere of the film, featuring Robert A.M. Stern, Gary Brewer, and Melissa DelVecchio, moderated by Architectural Digest’s Decorative Arts Editor, Mitchell Owens.
Advance registration is required.
