Hosted by the Utah Chapter
The lecture "Unlocking Religious Symbol" by Dr. Rita Wright will discuss the theology of light as it pertains to religious architecture and visual symbolism. Dr. Wright will trace the ongoing theologies of light through the history of Christian architecture and look at how light can be used to create multi-sensory experiences for sacred space. At the end of the presentation participants will be able to observe and interpret visual representations of light in art and architecture, gain an awareness of the multi-sensory capacity for aesthetic experiences in architecture, and understand the importance of incorporating multi-sensory design strategies that promote an experiential awareness of the theology of light.
