Join us for a virtual tour of Villa Giovanelli di Noventa (1690), which represents one of the most beautiful and distinctive examples of a 17th-century “Villa Veneta”. Our presenters, Claudio Menichelli, Paolo Pagnin, Gianni Breda and Renzo Tagliaro will talk about the wealthy Giovanelli family, which wanted to celebrate its rise to Venetian patrician status with the construction of the mansion in Noventa, about Antonio Gaspari, who was the architect behind the building, as well as about the early 18th-century additions and the architectural features of the villa and its rich decorative cycle. Finally, space will be given to the story of the recent restoration: a complex operation, in search of a difficult balance between the dominant instances of conservation and the needs of contemporary use. This will be followed by the opportunity for live virtual discussion with the presenters at the Villa.
