Sawyer | Berson Architecture & Landscape Architecture, LLP, an AD100, New York-based design firm, seeks a highly motivated and skilled junior-level architect. Our work includes private residences, gardens, terraces, and commercial and institutional projects throughout the United States and internationally.
Ideal candidates must have New York-based experience and be adept in all aspects of residential design, creating accurate construction details and administering a project through all phases. As a firm focused on design, potential candidates will interact with design teams and Partners to continually develop the optimum design and appropriate detailing. Must have knowledge and a keen interest in how traditionally designed projects work from concept, documentation, and construction. Experience working in a classical architecture firm is a “plus.”
Requirements:
- Minimum three to five-plus years’ professional experience with a professional architecture degree
- Experience in residential design (townhouses, apartments, condos, base building) with strong attention to the design process, construction detailing, and developing a comprehensive drawing set.
- Familiarity with landscape architecture and interior design.
- Ability to coordinate with consultants, clients, and co-workers with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to take direction and initiative in problem-solving without losing sight of product quality.
- NYS/NYC code knowledge and permitting process with the building department.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- A thorough appreciation of both modern and traditional design.
