Period Architecture is seeking a qualified and creative individual to join our firm. Based in Pennsylvania, with commissions throughout the country, we focus on single-family residential design with a concentration on classic design in a collaborative studio atmosphere.

Project Architects are responsible for guiding the design and client experience from start to finish while collaborating with other members of the firm. This position must possess strong interpersonal and time management skills, along with a collaborative and detail-oriented approach to architecture.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Survey existing structures.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create plans, details, and elevations from Pre Design through Construction Documentation based on firm standards.
  • Utilize software such as SketchUp and Lumion to create digital renderings.
  • Collaborate with Principals throughout the design process.
  • Manage communication with clients and partners throughout the design process and construction.
  • Supervise, train and share knowledge with Intern and Staff Architects.
  • Visit designs in construction and provide additional drawings as needed during the building process.
  • Contribute to Period’s development and growth through continued education and collaboration within the firm.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Architectural licensure is preferred.
  • Experience managing a design from pre design through construction required.
  • Proficient in Period Architecture drawing standards and detailing.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  • Experience in the following software is preferred:
    • Lumion
    • Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, & Illustrator
  • Proficient in project and client experience management.
  • Creative and passionate about traditional residential design.
  • Strong documentation, technical and project management skills
  • Ability to manage time and open communication with team members.
  • Inquisitive and motivated for continuous improvement.
