Charleston-based, award winning, Anderson Studio of Architecture and Design is seeking a talented and enthusiastic creative to join our experienced team as a Staff Architect. The ideal individual will connect with our company values, and will have an accredited architectural degree and a working knowledge of classical/historically inflected architecture. While we prefer a minimum of three years of experience in the profession; we seek an individual who will demonstrate keen analytical and problem solving skills and a desire to grow in a positive, collaborative and flexible work environment.

The right Staff Architect will have the ability to produce drawings for all design phases; conceptual through construction documents with thorough technical detailing and notation. Having familiarity with design processes and checklists, you’ll be able to balance demands on multiple projects at various stages of development.

This position will receive direct support from a lead Project Manager. The Staff Architect will be responsible for:

• Exhibiting the company’s core values and communicating thoroughly and effectively with all staff, clients and partners.
• Reading and understanding contract/proposal scope of services and assisting in coordination of all deliverables.
• Having a clear knowledge of zoning ordinances and building codes, with experience in research of the same.
• Proactively self monitor the design process, planning solutions, construction documents and construction administration by comparing the progress of the work to the schedule and budgeted hours for each task.
• Maintaining BIM/CAD efficiency and BIM/CAD document files.
