History:

Thank you for taking the time to explore Carrick Custom Home Design. In 1996, Joe Carrick stepped away from a 13 year long career of designing and installing flight simulators for a military subcontractor. He established Joe Carrick Design (which later transitioned to JCD - Custom Home Design) because of his personal interest in designing custom homes and a desire to spend more time with his family. Custom home design provided an opportunity for Joe to couple his attention for detail developed as a mechanical designer, and creativity developed through his interest and talent in art. In August 2021, we lost Joe to the pandemic. While his loss has been felt my many, including our team, his impact is stronger than ever!

James Carrick worked with Joe for many years prior to his passing. He originally became excited about architectural design while working for Joe at the age of 15 during a summer job running blueprints. He started detailing and designing during his high school years and joined full time upon returning home from a two year mission to Santiago, Chile in 2007. James was taught all facets of home design and teamed with Joe on most custom designs. Together, Joe and James designed homes that won 4 Utah Valley Parade of Homes People's Choice awards from 2011-2019.

Bryson and Casey joined the team in that span and quickly became key players in helping ensure drawings were detailed correctly while also assisting in designing various homes. In 2019, James stepped away from JCD and started Driftwood Home Design. This change allowed Bryson and Casey to step into more substantial rolls where they were critical in the success of JCD.

JCD and Driftwood merged in June of 2022 and together we've created Carrick Custom Home Design. We're excited to continue our family legacy of designing some of the best homes in Utah and around the country.
