The Brooklyn Studio is an architecture and interior design firm committed to restoring and enhancing New York City's historic architecture. Founded in 1997 by Brendan Coburn, FAIA, The Brooklyn Studio specializes in the rehabilitation of 19th and early 20th-century rowhouses and masonry structures. The firm employs 35 architects, designers, and creative professionals. In the last 26 years, The Brooklyn Studio has restored over 135 buildings in twenty historic districts throughout New York. The firm has also completed recent projects in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and the Hudson Valley.
The firm's unique approach to architecture and interior design is both academically rigorous and playful. As caretakers of the built environment, they're always aware of the historical, cultural, and environmental context. Each project is a conversation across time, a reflection of architecture and design that transcends generations, cultures, and sensibilities.
