Thanks to the generous support of the Marilyn and Ray Gindroz Foundation, each year the ICAA offers The Hampton University Scholarship, allowing a student selected by the faculty of its Department of Architecture the opportunity to attend one of the seven-day intensive courses of study offered in New York City at the ICAA’s national headquarters. Besides the direct pedagogical benefit to the recipient, participation in this intensive session enables the student to return to Hampton University with an enhanced appreciation of the classical tradition and an ability to share this knowledge with fellow students and faculty alike. The Marilyn and Ray Gindroz Foundation was established to provide opportunities to students of music and of architecture. For the last three years, the foundation has worked with the historically African-American Hampton University’s Department of Architecture to enrich its program with travel and study opportunities. The scholarship provides subsidy for tuition, accommodations, as well as transportation to and from New York City from Hampton University. This full scholarship is granted to a deserving applicant based on the quality of his or her drawings and related accomplishment, along with a statement of interest.
